“B” is for Burberry and “C” is for…controversy? That’s the case for one mom who is going viral on TikTok after teaching her daughter the alphabet with a book about luxury labels.
In the video, the mom can be seen flipping through the children’s book as her daughter reads along.
“D is for…" the woman says, while her daughter chimes in: “Dior.”
“F is for …” she says. Her daughter responds, “Fendi.”

Other luxury labels mentioned in the book include Gucci, Hermes and Louis Vuitton.
The caption reads: “Teaching her early.”
The video has ignited controversy, with many arguing that the book places too large an emphasis on materialism.
“This is wrong in so many ways,” writes one TikTok user.
Adds another: “Disgusting and embarassing. Idolizing the rich.”
“Nah don’t agree with this one,” wrote another commenter, to which the woman who posted the video replied: “Good job no one asked you.”
The video currently has more than 9 million views, with the creator taking the controversy in stride.
Responding to another commenter who argued that the little girl should be learning the alphabet via different books, @caseyxjean wrote, “Please don’t worry yourself. She has plenty of other books this isn’t the only learning resource she has.”

Still others offered a defense of the creator, with one writing, “So many people saying it’s bad to teach this…maybe she doesn’t want a Bus for B maybe she wants a Burberry bag for B instead.”
