Neil Youngis going coastal.On Friday, Feb. 28, the “Heart of Gold” singer announced that he is releasing a new album and film titledCoastalwith his band Chrome Hearts to go along with it, days after a major world tour announcement.Young’s wifeDaryl Hannahdirected the film, which will feature behind-the-scenes content from his 2023 solo tour along the west coast, which was a deep dive into the 79-year-old musician’s catalog.“Coastaloffers a glimpse behind the curtain of this unguarded iconoclast, as he navigates a return to the stage post-Covid – from his everyday observations on the bus to his candid, wry banter with his audience,“the website for the film reads. “The illuminating film also features songs rarely, if ever played live, performed in breathtakingly beautiful theaters.“Neil Young in New York City in September 2024.Gary Miller/GettyCoastalwill play in theaters for one night on Thursday, April 17.
