Noah Cyrus Posts About Dad Billy Ray for the First Time After Brother Trace Hinted at Possible Estrangement

The “July” singer, 25, posted Billy Ray’s new song to her Instagram Stories on Friday, Feb. 7, marking the first time she’s spoken publicly about her father since brother Trace Cyrushinted at estrangementwithin the famous family.

“So proud of my Dad’s INCREDIBLE new single LOST with my good, old friend [Sam Tinnesz] and [Tommee Profitt],” she wrote, adding two red hearts.

Billy Ray, 63, released the new song “Lost” with Tinnesz and Profitt on Feb. 7, marking his first new music release since his controversial performance at President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20.

After the performance, Trace Cyrus, 35, shared an open letter of concern to Billy Ray on Instagram, andcalled out Noah directly, writing that the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer had grown distant in recent years (In addition to Trace and Noah, Billy Ray is also dad to Miley, 32, Brandi, 37, and Braison 30, with ex-wife Tish Cyrus, as well as son Christopher, 32).

Noah, for her part, did not respond publicly to Trace’s letter, though a source told PEOPLE that she and her siblingswere not interested in conflict.

“They got through the drama of 2024, and it’s a new year,” the insider said. “Miley and Noah and Braison and Tish, they don’t want to be this Cyrus family feud. This is not enjoyable for them.”

Billy Rayseemingly respondedto Trace’s letter on Jan. 26, when he shared a music video clip from his 2009 song “Somebody Said a Prayer,” which features Trace.

“Sunday callin,” Billy Ray captioned the footage on YouTube. “Giving thanks for the California Rain . Praying for the brokenhearted and their pain. Praying for my family. For my children … sons and daughters…and their mother. Let this moment be the start of healing ❤️‍🩹 for us all. ‘The past does not equal the future.’ Amen 🙏🏼”

Days later, on Feb. 2, Billy Raycelebrated Miley winning the Grammy Awardfor best country duo/group performance for her Beyoncé duet “II Most Wanted.”

“Congratulations @mileycyrus and @beyonce on their well-deserved @recordingacademyGrammywins!” hewrote on Instagrambeneath an image announcing their win. “Couldn’t be prouder!!!”

Miley, who brought boyfriend Maxx Morando and mom Tish to the Grammys, “liked” her dad’s Instagram post.

Billy Ray made his first public appearance since the inauguration, during which his set was plagued with technical difficulties, on Feb. 1 in Nashville at an event for the Nashville Humane Association.
