In March 2024, Munn announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer a year prior. The following month, she spoke to PEOPLE about how the scary news affected her parenting and relationship with her husband.

“It would’ve felt like climbing an iceberg without him,” said Munn, who endured four surgeries over 10 months. She called Mulaney supportive and “an incredibly hands-on father.”

Mulaney would go “to and from the hospital—taking Malcolm to the park, putting him to nap, driving to Cedars-Sinai, hanging out with me, going home, putting Malcolm to bed, coming back to me,” Munn said. “And he did it all happily.”
