The high school sweethearts first met when they were teenagers, and the pair managed to make a long-distance relationship work while excelling in their collegiate athletic careers before becoming professional athletes. Patrick is the quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, while Brittany previously competed internationally as a pro soccer player in Iceland.

Despite their numerous accomplishments, their pride and joy are their children. Daughter Sterling Skye arrived in February 2021; one year later, the coupletied the knotin Maui, Hawaii, during a picturesque ceremony, where Sterling served as the pair’sadorable flower girl. The couple welcomed their son,Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, in November 2022, and their second daughter,Golden Raye, in January 2025.

March 2012: Patrick and Brittany begin dating

Patrick met Brittanywhen he was a sophomore and she was a junior at Whitehouse High School in Texas, and they began dating as teenagers.

During a2020 interview withToday, the future Super Bowl champion reflected on the early days of his relationship with Brittany, describing himself as “just a normal teenage kid showing up at the family dinner type stuff and being nervous and everything.”

May 2013: Patrick and Brittany attend prom together

In the spring of 2013, Patrick and Brittany attended their school prom together. Patrick shared a collage of photos from the night on his Instagram account with the caption, “Best prom date a guy could ask for!!”

2013-2014: Patrick and Brittany attend different colleges

After Brittanygraduated high school, she went off to the University of Texas at Tyler where she played soccer. A year later, Patrick graduated high school and chose Texas Tech University. However, the distance couldn’t keep them apart, and they managed to make it work despite their stringent collegiate athletic schedules.

February 2, 2020: Brittany supports Patrick after his Super Bowl win

Patrick and the Chiefs wonSuper Bowl LIVon Feb. 2, 2020, and the quarterback was crowned the MVP of the game. After the big win, Patrick was photographed holding Brittany on the field as they celebrated together.

September 2, 2020: Patrick pops the question to Brittany

Patrick later confessed toKCSP 610 Radiothat he was more nervous about proposing than he was about playing in the Super Bowl. “You don’t think it’s going to be nerve-wracking, especially when you’ve been with someone for so long, but before you get on that knee, your heart’s racing, I promise you that,” he said.

September 29, 2020: Patrick and Brittany announce they’re expecting

Later that same month, the couple announced even more exciting news: they wereexpecting their first child.

Brittanycelebrated her first Mother’s Daywhen Sterling was 11 weeks old.

“Dear Sterling, thank you for making me a mommy and being the biggest blessing EVER, Mommy & Daddy love you more than you will ever understand,” Brittanywrotebefore thanking her mother.

The NFL quarterback also celebrated Brittany with a tribute, writing, “Happy 1st Mother’s Day!” on Instagram.

March 12, 2022: Patrick and Brittany tie the knot

On March 12, 2022, Patrick and Brittany finally said “I do” after 10 years of dating. The private ceremony was held inMaui, Hawaii. Brittany wore a Versace gown complete with an elaborate train while their 1-year-old daughter served as one of the flower girls. Little Sterling rode down the aisle in atoy car.

March 2022: Patrick and Brittany go on a tropical honeymoon

Patrick and Brittany jetted off toSt. Bartsfor theirhoneymoon, where the newlyweds went paddleboarding, hiking and spent time taking in the scenery.

Brittany updated fans on Instagram with photos of the trip, including the couple’s romantichoneymoon suite. The pair was treated to champagne, rose petals, parfaits and a cake with their high school’s name and emblem on it, commemorating where they first met.

May 29, 2022: Patrick and Brittany announce they’re expecting again

“Round 2!” they captioned a trio of pictures that show the couple smiling with Sterling, who holds a sign that reads, “Big sister duties … coming soon.”

November 28, 2022: Patrick and Brittany welcome their second child

In a joint post on Instagram, Patrick and Brittany announced thearrival of their son, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III. The couple shared a sweet photo of their newborn’s feet as he slept on a fleece blanket emblazoned with the name “Mahomes.” Also pictured was a custom chain with Bronze’s name spelled out in diamonds.

January 11, 2023: Patrick joins Brittany as co-owner of the Kansas City Current

Brittany has been a co-owner of the women’s soccer team since its inception in 2020 and Patrick is now an investor.

“I am thankful for the chance to join @brittanylynne as part of the Kansas City Current’s ownership team,” he wrote onInstagram. “She and the Longs have done an incredible job building a world-class organization and I am excited to join another championship-caliber club as it continues to make history.”

January 29, 2023: Brittany celebrates Patrick going to the Super Bowl

Brittany wasin attendance at the AFC Championship gamewhen Patrick and the Kansas City Chiefs earned their spot inSuper Bowl LVII.

During the game, she shared photos and videos on her Instagram Story that featured her and daughter Sterling at the stadium. After the win, Brittany shared avideo on Instagramwhich showed the football player running over to kiss Sterling and her as well as other post-game celebrations.

February 9, 2023: Patrick thanks Brittany in NFL MVP acceptance speech

Just days before playing in the Super Bowl, Patrick was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player for the 2022-2023 season. The quarterback wasn’t able to attend the NFL Honors ceremony in Phoenix, Arizona, but he did pre-record an acceptance speech for the audience, which included a special shout-out to his wife and kids.

February 12, 2023: Patrick and Brittany celebrate his Super Bowl win

Brittany was there to cheer on her husband during the 2023 Super Bowl,giving him a kiss for good luckahead of the big game. After the Chiefs defeated the Eagles,Brittany rushed on the field to celebrateher husband’s victory.

In a video posted on her Instagram story, Brittany could be heard yelling “He did it!” as she made her way to Patrick. She also posted footage of the quarterback holding up the Vince Lombardi Trophy during a ceremony after the win.

April 16, 2023: Brittany opens up about women who pursue Patrick

Brittany was asked how she deals withwomen flirting with her husbandduring an Instagram Q&A.

“Lol it’s actually really sad how disrespectful some women are…But they are a waist [sic] of my time & not going to disturb my peace,” she replied.

Brittany added that she “used to have a very hard time” and “get extremely annoyed” when other women would flirt with her husband but now she “could care less.”

July 11, 2023: Patrick says Brittany is a “great wife”

At the Los Angeles premiere of his Netflix docuseries,Quarterback, Patrick expressed his gratitude for Brittany.

Brittany, who joined her husband on the red carpet, chimed in: “I think he’s done such an amazing job at balancing his work life and his at-home life. I think he’s really switched around his priorities and figured it out. He’s the best father ever.”

July 12, 2023: Patrick and Brittany attend the ESPYs

Patrick and Brittany walked the red carpet together at the2023 ESPY Awards. Later that evening, the quarterback won the ESPY for best NFL player and best athlete, men’s sports.

“I want to thank my family — Brittany, Bronze, Sterling — I’m glad that all that hard work is paying off. When I’m not in the building, y’all are supporting me and making me the man that I am,” Patrick said during his acceptance speech.

January 13, 2024: Brittany cheers Patrick on at a Kansas City Chiefs playoff game

Despite the freezing cold temperatures, Brittany was at Arrowhead Stadium to cheer Patrick on as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Miami Dolphins in an NFL playoff game.

Brittany’s jacket bore the couple’s last name and Patrick’s jersey number, while Swift’s corresponded to boyfriendTravis Kelce’s jersey.

February 6, 2024: Brittany and Patrick stay in contact as he prepares for Super Bowl 2024

In the week leading up to Patrick’s fourth Super Bowl, he told reporters that he does his best to stay connected to Brittany and their kids as he practices and prepares for the big game.

“I always FaceTime them whenever I’m not with themand talk to them throughout the day. Bronze is running around now, starting to walk,” he said.

The proud dad continued, “Sterling’s loving it, being able to be on vacation and everything like that. So hopefully I’ll get to see them throughout the week when I get some free time but it’s always great when I get to talk to them.”

A few days later, Brittany was announced as one ofSports Illustrated Swimsuit’s2024 Rookies for their 60th anniversary issue. In the promotional video and images, she donned various Chiefs-red swimsuits.

Brittany brought Sterling and Bronze onto the fieldbefore Patrick’s fourth Super Bowl game and the couple celebrated together after the quarterback led his team to victory. When Patrick accepted the MVP trophy, his third in total, he expressed his gratitude for Brittany and their kids.

July 12, 2024: Patrick and Brittany announce they are expecting their third child

In mid-July 2024, Patrick and Brittany shared on Instagram that they were expecting their third child. In a video showing the family of four in all-white and tan outfits, the couple smiled wide and held sonogram photos.

As Patrick and Brittany posed together, Sterling and Bronzed danced around toBruno Mars' song, “Count On Me.”

January 16, 2025: Brittany cheers Patrick on as the Kansas City Chiefs win the 2025 AFC Championship

When Patrick and the Chiefs won the 2025 AFC Championship, securing their place at Super Bowl LVIII, Brittany was there to celebrate with her husband on the field.

After the game, Brittany shared photos from the night on her Instagram Stories, writing a message to those who had “concerns” about Patrick.

“Thank you for all your concerns with 15 this season,see ya’ll in New Orleans,” she wrote in the post, signing off, “his wife.”

February 6, 2025: Patrick shares how Brittany inspires him on the field ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl

While talking to reporters at a press conference ahead of the2025 Super Bowl, Patrick said Brittany’s competitive nature helps drive him to be a better player.

“I think having that fire, itbleeds through our entire familyand it makes us as a family so close-knit because Brittany’s going out there and being the one that’s willing to lay it on the line every single day, and so she’s, like I said, she’s the competitor in the family,” he said. “People think I am, but she is for sure.”

March 12, 2025: Patrick and Brittany celebrate three years of marriage

Patrick and Brittany celebrated theirthird wedding anniversarywith a romantic candlelight dinner for two. The couple enjoyed cocktails and chocolate-covered strawberries, per Instagram.
