Pete Davidson Opens Up About Being 'Harassed' Over His Dating Life 'Because I'm Ugly': 'Pretty Humiliating and Upsetting'

Pete Davidsonis getting real about the scrutiny he’s faced over his love life.

Ever sincehis whirlwind five-month romancewithAriana Grandein 2018 — during whichthey got engaged— theSNLalum’s dating habits have been headline-making, and now, he’s finally opening up about how hard that’s been to navigate.

“It was pretty humiliating and upsetting, honestly,” Davidson, 31, toldPage Six.

As he aptly pointed out, “Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood,” he said, referencingPaul Mescal,Timothée ChalametandBarry Keoghanas examples of other stars in his age range experimenting with dating.

“But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me. I was harassed for like, five years and it made my life a living hell,” he said.

Davidson continued of the scrutiny, “It’s embarrassing because you want people to write about your work. I was one of the youngest-ever cast members onSNLand all that got pushed to the side because of who I was dating.”

When it comes to his romantic history, the comedian described his past as “some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women,” and he said that his breakups have all been drama-free. “When it’s ended, it’s been cool.”

He was most recentlylinked to Madelyn Cline, from whomhe split in July 2024. He told the outlet of his current relationship status: “Over the last six months, I’m not dating. I’m starting to turn my life around.”

A source told PEOPLE in October thatDavidson is “still friends with pretty much all his exes,” to the extent that he and Kardashian, 44, “still talk occasionally.”

“He’s a good guy, and they root for him,” the source said.

Some light was also shed on his split from Cline, 27. “Nothing bad happened between him and Madelyn. It just ran its course,” the source said.
