'Precious Girl,' 4, Is Killed at Dentist Office During Shooting Outside Between Police and Suicidal Man

Responding officers found the individual walking down the street when they attempted to have a conversation with him, the statement said. The man allegedly opened fire “almost immediately” and was himself fatally shot after officers fired back.

It wasn’t clear who fired the bullet that struck her. PEOPLE has reached out to St. Clair Township police for further information.

The GoFundMe set up for the family of “sweet Rosie” says she leaves behind her parents and three siblings.

“Jennifer and Jessel, unfortunately, did not have any life insurance on Rosie, as they never expected to lose their precious girl at all, let alone this soon,” reads part of the fundraiser. “This tragedy has left this family in shambles.”

Detective Dakota Wetzel, who wasshot in the headduring the incident, was hospitalized and remains in stable condition, according to an update on Thursday.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Joseph Como, died from his injuries a few hours after the incident, according topolice.
