A woman revealed that she asked her Army boyfriend to temporarilyrehome his “untrained” dogwhen she takes care of their newborn while he travels — and now he is trying to “guilt” her into taking care of the pet.

The 32-year-old pregnant woman detailed her experience on Reddit“Am I the A——” forumon Friday, March 7, explaining that she and her 31-year-old boyfriend are expecting their first child and that he recently made the “very sudden decision” to rejoin the Army after getting let go from his job.

“They want to ship him out in as little as two weeks from this past Tuesday. He’ll have to cross train and best case scenario […] he’s home around end of August,” she added.

The woman also said the dog has a host of behavioral issues.

“He’s not fixed and is extremely hyper, untrained, has zero manners, is destructive, gets aggressive towards me, and his behavior has only gotten worse over the months,” she wrote. “He’s torn up parts of the couch, gets into trash all the time, jumps up on the counter and steals food or will steal it even right out of your hand (not gently at all).”

The dog — which the original poster [OP] described as “pretty big” — also growls, jumps on people, and ”has started pooping and peeing in the house.” She also wrote that he has on occasionbitten both herand her boyfriend.

The woman emphasized that she has asked her boyfriend to “get a handle on his dog” for “the past 9-10 months,” but her boyfriend “has literally done NOTHING.”

The OP said her boyfriend is “trying hardto guilt meinto keeping his dog here because [he said] he’s already stressed and I’m supposed to make it easier on him and take care of things on the home front.“

“NTA [not the a——],” wrote one person. “Your BF is, though. He’s abandoning you. He’sabandoning his newborn child. He’s abandoning his dog. And dumping every single bit of that responsibility on you to run away from home.”

“Def nta,” agreed another commenter. “I wouldn’t feel safe dealing with a dog that’s consistently baring [its] teeth at me. Your BF is a major a– for not prioritizing your safety.”
