Ron Livingston is doing vintage fashion theSex and the Cityway.

On the Dec. 30 podcast episode ofWTF with Marc Maron, Livingston — who played Jack Berger, one of Carrie Bradshaw’s love interests on the show — opened up about his vast wardrobe of suits.

Berger sported an array of suits on the show, and Livingston was apparently gifted many of them. They’re “20 years old” now, Livingston said, but they’re from an era of talented fashion designers and high-quality clothes.

“I haven’t bought a suit in 20 years,” he shared. “I can’t afford anything as nice as this stuff was 20 years ago. You know, I can, but I don’t — I can’t spent that money on that.”

It doesn’t make much sense for him to buy suits anyway, he said, because he claims there aren’t that many occasions that demand it in his current lifestyle. And while rewearing outfits for public outings has been frowned upon in the past, Livingston doesn’t care about that — and he’s “at the age” where he doesn’t think others do, either.

Livingston also shared he doesn’t like getting rid of clothes — too many items have “emotional energy” attached to them, he said.

He tried to go through “a good 50 shirts that I got” while filming a project. They’re plaid, he said, which he liked for a time but he’s since moved on. So Livingston pulled them all out of his closet and threw them into a pile — which has been sitting there for about three weeks now, he shared on the podcast.

“And I’m just looking at the pile waiitng for one of them to say something to me,” Livingston joked. “And I don’t know if it’s going to happen.”

Most of the time, any attempt to clean just turns into unnecessary reorganizing, he said.

Rosemarie DeWitt, who has been married to Livingston since 2009, shared onThe Drew Barrymore Showin November 2024 that her husband “got a lot of heat for a long time"for the awful breakup.

“Back in the day, when we first started dating, we’d be walking in the West Village and there’d be thoseSex and the Citytours, and Ron would be like, ‘Go left! Go left!’ ” she said.

“And we’d have to duck into Magnolia Bakery or something because women would come up and scream at him,” she continued. “They’d be like, ‘You broke up with her on a Post-it!’”
