The more I know you the more I know I love you…and you have introduced me to parts of myself I was afraid to love. And now I love ME more because of you. So really this is all about me. Wedding planning has been slow since. “There’s justso many questions,” she explained to PEOPLE in November 2023. “We talk about it all the time, should we just go to city hall and just do the thing? There’s another part of me that is like, ‘But wouldn’t it be fun to just have a great party with our friends and family?’ And so I don’t know, we’re still figuring it out.”
Decisions were made along the way. In January, Bareilles spoke with PEOPLE about the"non-negotiables" she has for her wedding— the first of which were “comfortable places to sit.”
“I want lots of blankets in case it’s cold because I hate being cold,” she said. “The food has to be slamming and the music has to be amazing.”
The two-time Grammy winner continued to share that she wants the special day to feel “really cozy and warm, and inviting.”
