Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Had a Picnic with Taco Bell (Her Favorite!) at Their Engagement

Love starts with Taco Bell!

Selena GomezandBenny Blancohad a picnic with food from the popular fast food establishment – known to be one of the singer’s favorites – during their engagement.

On Wednesday, Dec. 11, Gomez, 32,announced the couple’s engagementonInstagramwith a series of romantic photos, one of which included a picture of their unique outing.

The second image of the post showed theEmilia Pérezstar sitting outside on a beige picnic blanket alongside a pile of other blankets and a basket of food. Gomez was dressed down in a fur coat and jeans with sneakers as she dug into the feast, and pictured on the blanket were multiple boxes of Taco Bell.

“Forever begins now..” she captioned the post.

The carousel also included a close-up snap of her engagement ring and a pic of her and Blanco, 36, celebrating their engagement with laughs and a hug.

The record producer commented on the post: “hey wait … that’s my wife.”

In November, Blanco told PEOPLEin an exclusive interviewthat he enjoys cooking for Gomez and even learned how to make homemade Taco Bell.

Blanco revealed later in the interview that they enjoyed the chain restaurant as part of their Valentine’s Day celebrations.

“I go all out for every date We go all out for each other. One time Sel was like, ‘Oh, I want to take you on a date.’ We drove somewhere and she had rented out a whole botanical garden for me,” he said. “She also likes something so simple. For Valentine’s Day, I got her Taco Bell, I made her movie-theater nachos, I found her favorite pickles from Texas and I deep-fried them for her. Then [I had] all her candies and Hot Cheetos.”

That same month, Gomez shared asweet message on her Instagram Storiesabout Blanco that referenced her love for the chain restaurant. While sharing a pic of her beau, she wrote, “Not only do you love me unconditionally … You always get me my Taco Bell Mexican pizza.”

Gomez and Blanco werefirst linked in December 2023.

A source told PEOPLE in April that Gomez and Blanco were “so in love” just five months after confirming their relationship.

In May, Blanco said hecould see marriage in the futurefor him and Gomez during an appearance onThe Howard Stern Show, though he clarified that he hadn’t purchased a ring yet.

“When I look at her … I’m always just like, I don’t know a world where it could be better than this," he said, later adding, “People always said this to me, when you know you meet your best friend, she truly is my best friend.”
