After dating for over a year, the couple announced their engagement onInstagramin December 2024. “hey wait… that’s my wife,” Blanco wrote in the comment section of Gomez’s post, which featured photos of her massive diamond ring.

The “Single Soon” singer was first linked to the producer in December 2023, confirming the two were dating when she liked fan account posts on Instagram of the two, even commenting, “He ismy absolute everythingin my heart,” on one.

Since then, Gomez and Blanco have sat courtside at a Lakers game and attended multiple high-profile events, including the2024 Golden Globesand Emmy Awards.

March 2019: Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco release a song together

Years before their relationship turned romantic, Gomez and Blanco collaborated on the song “I Can’t Get Enough” together. It also featured Tainy andJ Balvin. The singer starred in the music video and shared a sweet scene with Blanco as she was in pajamas, and he dressed as a big white teddy bear.

In 2023, they worked together again on her single, “Single Soon,” which came out in August.

December 7, 2023: Selena Gomez confirms she is dating Benny Blanco

To another user, she replied, “I don’t understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest then don’t be in [m]y life at all.”

In another comment, Gomez revealed that they had been going strong for six months already in response to a person’s note that she appeared to be “mad” at her fans for their reaction to the romance news.

“Not mad. It’s been 6 months bb,” she wrote. “I will always defend my friends, family and fans till the day I die.”

The following day, Gomez posted a picture on her Instagram Story of herself wearing aspecial “B” ringon her left ring finger.

A week after going public with their relationship, Gomez shared asweet behind-the-scenes glimpse into her romancewith the song producer. She posted a photo of Blanco cuddling into her while she hugged him on her Instagram Story, leaving it captionless.

In an Instagram recap of her “favorite moments” from her stay in New York City that week, Gomez slid in asweet snap of herself lying on Blanco’s lapwhile they embraced. In the black-and-white photo, Gomez leaned back while Blanco hunched over to plant a kiss on her lips.

Elsewhere in the carousel of photos, Gomez posed with Blanco, who enveloped her in his arms.

December 21, 2023: Selena Gomez shares what she’s looking for in a relationship

In an interview withVogue México y Latinoamérica, Gomez revealed that self-respect and holding space for others’ feelings are top priorities of what she looks for in a partner.

Though she didn’t name Blanco, she said she’s started to be involved with the “right kind” of people.

“Honestly, I have to start being attracted to the right kind of people, because it’s a bit of both,” the “Same Old Love” singer said in the interview, which was translated from Spanish to English. “It’s very hard to find someonewho can listen to you and care about you, but I know when it happens it will be great and you will want it to be healthy.”

The couple brought their relationship into the new year, with Blancoposting a photo of Gomezsmiling into the camera on his Instagram Story. He followed it with another photo of Gomez cheesing and covering her face with manicured red nails.

Gomez and Blanco announced their first musical collaboration as a couple ahead of Valentine’s Day 2025. Their upcoming albumI Said I Love You Firstwill be released on March 21.

While speaking toInterview Magazine, Gomez and Blanco opened up about working together on a joint project.

“He listened to me. Most of my anxiety right now is wanting him to speak because I feel like he’s more talented than I am in this field,” she said. “This album definitely feels just as much mine as I’m sure it does his.”

The music producer added, “Every time she’s singing, I feel it so deep. The thing that Selena does that not a lot of artists do is she’s never afraid to tell the truth.”

February 14, 2025: Benny Blanco talks about designing Selena Gomez’s engagement ring

In the couple’s first joint interview, Blanco shared more details about the engagement ring he designed and popped the question with while talking toInterviewmagazine.

Not only did he confirm the theories that the ring featured a marquise diamond as a reference to her song “Good For You,” but he also had Gomez’s help in creating the design.

“Sheshowed me designsand I would always throw little hints," he said. “I’d be like, ‘Yeah, but if I ever made one, would you want it like this?’ And then she changed her mind halfway through.”

This led to him removing the “huge baguettes” that were on each side of the ring’s main diamond when Gomez decided she didn’t “want something that big,” but they won’t go to waste.

“We’re going to make earrings for her. She basically has three wedding rings,” Blanco said.
