Selena Gomez Surprises Steve Martin and Martin Short with Their First-Ever SAG Awards After They Missed the Ceremony

Selena Gomezmade sure that herOnly Murders in the BuildingcostarsSteve MartinandMartin Shortreceived their trophies after they missed the 2025SAG Awards!

However Short was unable to attend the show becausehe was sick with COVID, and presenters Joey King and Jack Quaidaccepted the award on his behalf.

On Wednesday, March 12, Gomez, 32, presented her costars with their first-time SAG awards on camera, and they reacted to their wins.

“And the SAG Award goes to Steve Martin and Martin Short,” she proclaimed as she approached the men.

Short pretended to fall to the ground due to the weight of his awards and then delivered a faux acceptance speech.

“I would like to thank the Academy and everyone in the crew… Whose names [I] just don’t know,” he teased.

Meanwhile, Martin confirmed that it was his first SAG Award win.

During the ceremony, Gomez accepted the show’s award without her costars andacknowledged their absence in an acceptance speech.

“We never win. This is so weird!” she said, jokingly adding, “Marty and Steve aren’t here because, you know, they don’t really care.”

“But I just, I don’t know what to say,” she continued. “Thank you to Marty and Steve for — well they raised me. But I genuinely am just so grateful to everybody. The writers, everyone deserves this. And I take it home for all of us, and I’m bringing this back to New York for season 5. Thank you so much. I’m so grateful.
