Shane McMahon's 3 Sons: All About Declan, Kenyon and Rogan (Including the Hints They’ve Dropped About Joining the WWE)

Shane McMahonhas passed his athletic genes to his three sons: Declan, Kenyon and Rogan.

Now, two of them play at the collegiate level: Declan is a red-shirt freshman atIndiana University, while Kenyon is at theUniversity of North Carolina. Rogan also made varsity as a high school freshman.

From the start, Shane explained that he wouldn’t be pressuring his kids to be part of the wrestling world but wouldn’t be upset if they found their way into the family business.

“If their passion is in there, and that’s what they want to do, absolutely,” he toldSLAM! Wrestlingin 2006. “They are the fifth generation, so it’s up to them to continue.”

Declan, Kenyon and Rogan have been up close and personal to the ring, attendingWrestleManiasand practices. After years away from the WWE, Shane wrestled in WrestleMania 32 in 2016 so his sons could see him perform. The three boys ran out with their dad, a moment Shane described as “an unbelievable honor.”

“It’s an experience I will never, ever forget in my life," he told ESPN’sSportscenterin 2016. “Imagine that, that you get to have your three sons a part of one of the greatest entertainment spectaculars of all time.”

Declan James McMahon, 21

Shane and Marissa welcomed their son Declan James McMahonon Feb. 13, 2004.

The couple chose Irish names for their children, and Declan was named after a king of Ireland. He toldwrestling writer Jim Varsallonethat his moniker is “unique so I like it.”

In 2022, Declan graduated from Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, where he played quarterback and was on the team with his brother, Kenyon, for two years. Declan has called that experience with his brother as “some of the best years of my life.”

The eldest McMahon boy visited with Duke University and Rutgers University. He also received offers from Fordham University and East Carolina University. Ultimately, though, he committed to Indiana University as a preferred walk-on and running back.

Shane — who Declan described as “one of the most intense guys I’ve ever met” — proudly shared photos of him and his sonon Xafter Declanannounced his commitmentto the Hoosiers on social media in 2022.

“So proud to be Declan’s father,” Shane wrote. “Hard work pays off. Go Hoosiers!”

Thanks to Declan and the McMahon family, the team owns anofficial WWE takeaway belt, which players hold up after interceptions and forced fumbles. The belt means a lot to the Hoosiers, but maybe even more to Declan personally, as it represents his commitment to the values of the WWE. Declan tries to live the life of a champion in everything he does, from schoolwork to being a good big brother.

The New York Yankees fan started college as a sports media and broadcasting major but switched to business management, feeling the latter was better suited for him. He has already co-founded a company, the soon-to-be-launched nicotine pouch maker Neuro Nicotine, according toits websiteandInstagram bio.

Declan and his brothers have experienced the thrill of a WWE crowd and were in the spotlight themselves when they ran out with their dad ahead of WrestleMania 32 in 2016. (Shane wrestledthe Undertakerthat year, and his final WWE match was atWrestleMania 39in 2023.)

“I couldn’t believe it. People are asking me, like, ‘Did you guys rehearse that? You went through that?’ No, they just came out — they took to it like fish to water,” Shane told ESPN of his kids’ big moment. “Declan, my eldest, is like [waving to the crowd], ‘Oh, what’s up?’ Feeling it. Oh my God, I had so much fun with it. That was my WrestleMania moment forever.”

But will Declan wrestle on the big stage one day?

“I’m never ruling it out. I would love to get in the ring maybe a couple of times,” he told the outlet. “I think a lot of fans would get behind it if we ended up doing it. I think I’d be pretty good at it.”

Kenyon Jess McMahon, 18

Like his older brother, Kenyon grew up in Brooklyn and played for Poly Prep, graduating in 2024. Kenyon is also a collegiate football player, currently a defensive back for the University of North Carolina.

“So proud to be Kenyon’s Dad. Hard work pays off,” Shane wroteon InstagramafterKenyon declaredwith UNC in February 2024 — a nearly identical sentiment to the one he shared when Declan made his own announcement two years earlier.

Speaking to Varsallone, Declan explained that he and his brothers have considered joining the WWE and that Kenyon “has the knack for it.”

“He’s super physical and such a great athlete,” Declan shared, noting that Kenyon’s skills were evident in his high school football tapes.

After Shane washospitalized with diverticulitisin 2018, he thanked his fans on social media for the well wishes. Alongside a photo of him and his sons,Shane wrotethat he was “healing up, and I have the best medicine in the world with me.”

Rogan Henry McMahon, 14

The youngest of Shane and Marissa’s sons, Rogan Henry McMahon, was born in 2010 and raised in Brooklyn.

Like his older brothers, Rogan plays football. He’s currently an offensive/defensive lineman on his high school team and will graduate in 2028.

In addition to WrestleMania and WWE Hell in a Cell appearances, Rogan and his siblings have been seen with their dad at outings, like the 2014 Monster Energy SuperCross World Championship Race in New Jersey and a New York Knicks game against the Golden State Warriors at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in 2017.

The three boys have also been featured in some of their father’s social media posts over the years, including a video of them as his three “Sunday morning training partners” in 2016.

Shane wrote onXthat the father-son bonding was “what it’s all about.”

When discussing the possibility of becoming the next generations of wrestling McMahons, Declan shared with Varsallone that Rogan was “going to be pretty big,” so his size would help, and that maybe the WWE could “have a bloodline storyline with us. The possibilities are endless.”
