Sofía Vergara Shines in Sparkly Gown and 140-Carat Diamond Necklace at the 2025 Golden Globes

Sofía Vergarabrought her bling to the2025 Golden Globes.

For her big night on Jan. 5, she wore a black sparkling gown with a mermaid silhouette. She added even more sparkle to her look with tons of Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. She wore a 140-carat diamond necklace with a 35-carat center marquise diamond. She also wore 28-carat pear-shaped diamond earrings with a 25-carat diamond ring and a 7-carat diamond ring.

She wore her brown hair down and straight and wore understated glam, opting to let her dress and jewels do all the talking.

As for transforming into her role, Vergara had to undergo a drastic physical transformation to really get into the character. In February 2024, she told PEOPLE thatshe spent “three hours a dayin hair and makeup."

The show’s director and executive producer, Andrés Baiz, also previously said in a Netflix video that Vergara’s makeover into the drug lord was “one of the toughest aspects of the whole show.”

In June 2023, she told PEOPLE that she paid close attention to the small but very important details, likethe way she talked and walked. “I didn’t want it to look like Gloria Pritchett with a fake nose. I wanted the people to forget about Gloria — that was the main thing.”

Vergara’s 2025 nomination follows her previous Golden Globe nominations in 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010 for the same category for her work as Gloria Pritchett inModern Family.

Along with garnering a Golden Globe nomination for her work inGriselda, Vergara was also nominated for an Emmy at theEmmy Awards 2024. At the September 2024 event, she wore a sleeveless, floor-length red Dolce & Gabbana gown with a deep cut sweetheart neckline. At the event, she accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and wore her brown hair down with a slight curl at the bottom and finished her look with soft brown eyeshadow and a pink lip.

Prior to the September Emmys ceremony, Vergara also appeared at Hollywood’s biggest night: the 96th Academy Awards. At the March 10 event, Vergara appeared at the popularVanity Fairafterparty wearing a sophisticated black Oscar de la Renta gown.

Just weeks before, she wore acustom gold strapless Laura Basci dressto the Jan. 23 premiere ofGriseldain Miami. To glitz up the outfit, she added two cuff bangle bracelets and dangling earrings. She paired the look with a rosy red lip and matching eyeshadow.
