In August 2024, a rep for the coupleconfirmed with PEOPLEthat the two were expecting their first child.

“We had been hoping to start our family,” Gifford said at the time. “We found out about the pregnancy on our one year anniversary of our engagement!”

Giffordannounced her engagementto Sloneker in May 2023 on Instagram, with a series of black-and-white photos.

“Because Sydney Sloneker has a nice ring to it,” she wrote in the caption. “engaged to my best friend I’m speechless!!! overwhelmed with so much love and can’t wait to share this new chapter in my fiancé eraaaa.”

She added, “the most special part is Nate used 2 diamonds from my mom’s engagement ring and put together the most perfect ring for me that means the world 🤍 overwhelmed!!! i love you@sloneker13.”
