Teen Driver Had a Blood Alcohol Level Twice the Legal Limit, Plus Cocaine in His System, During Crash That Also Killed 2 Friends

Soren Dixon Driver in deadly Tesla Cybertruck crash had alcohol and cocaine in system, report shows The crash killed Soren Dixon, 19, Jack Nelson, 20, and Krysta Tsukahara, 19, who graduated from Piedmont High School in 2023.

A 19-year-old driver killed in a California car crash that also claimed the lives of two others had a blood alcohol level over twice the legal limit and cocaine in his system at the time, according to multiple reports.

Soren Dixon had blood concentrations of 0.195% and cocaine in him when the Tesla Cybertruck he was driving collided into a tree, killing himself and passengers Jack Nelson and Krysta Tsukahara on Nov. 27, 2024,USA Today,The San Francisco StandardandABC 7 Newsreported.

All three victims were severely burned in the crash and died at the scene, per The San Francisco Standard.

Dixon, Nelson and Tsukahara were graduates from Piedmont High School, the outlet reported. Dixon reportedly attended the University of Southern California, Nelson attended the University of Colorado Boulder and Tsukahara was a sophomore at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Piedmont Police said in apress releaseposted on Facebook in December 2024, “Our hearts remain heavy in the aftermath of the tragic vehicle collision,” adding: “We are grateful for the community’s incredible support.”

It is believed that the late victims were home for Thanksgiving break at the time of the incident, The San Francisco Standard reported.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Office did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on Saturday, Feb. 15.
