WhenHamiltondebuted Off-Broadway at The Public Theater on Jan. 20, 2015, it revolutionized musical theater in a fresh and funky way with its portrayal of the “bastard, orphan, son of a whore” who became America’s first secretary of the treasury.

He’s voiced characters like Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera/Gizmoduck onDuckTalesand Major Tom onBluey, as well as played Jack the lamplighter inMary Poppins Returns(2018) alongsideEmily Blunt. In 2021, Miranda cameoed as Piragüero in the movie adaptation of his first Broadway hit,In the Heights, and composed and voiced the titular character in the Netflix animated filmVivo.

Rapper-actor Daveed Diggs has remained incredibly busy since his Tony-winning performance as the Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson inHamilton.

From 2016 to 2017, Diggs played Ezekiel “Mr. Books” Figuero, the rap narrator on Netflix’sThe Get Down.He later lent his voice to several characters onCentral Parkas well as Paul in Pixar’s Oscar-winningSoul(2020), portrayed Frederick Douglass on Showtime’s miniseriesThe Good Lord Bird(2020) and starred as Andre Layton on TNT’s post-apocalyptic seriesSnowpiercer.

In film, he co-wrote, co-produced and starred inBlindspotting(2018) alongside his longtime collaborator Rafael Casal. The venture led Diggs and Casal to create the Starz spinoff series of the same name, which premiered in 2021, with the pair serving as executive producers. For his exceptional turn as King George III inHamilton,Jonathan Groffearned nominations for a Tony for best featured actor in a musical and an Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a limited or anthology series or movie. However, he was not part of the cast when the show first premiered Off-Broadway — Brian d’Arcy James originated the role of King George III with Groff coming in as a replacement in March 2015 when James moved on to lead the Broadway cast ofSomething Rotten!that same month.

On the big screen, Groff reprised hisFrozencharacter, Kristoff, in Disney’sFrozen II(2019) and played Smith in the fourth installment in theMatrixfranchise,The Matrix Resurrections(2021). He also headlined M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological thrillerKnock at the Cabin(2023) and will voice Kristoff again in Disney’s upcomingFrozen III, releasing in 2027.
