Carlos Valdes is journeying into the underworld!
The Flashalum, 35, will be taking overJordan Fisher’s role as Orpheus in the Broadway musicalHadestown. He is set to start performances at the Walter Kerr Theatre in New York City on Jan. 14, 2025.
Tony Award nominees Hailey Kilgore and Tom Hewitt will also succeedMaia Reficcoand Phillip Boykin respectively as Eurydice and Hades in the show.
Fisher, Reficco and Boykin willtake their final bowson Jan. 12.

Hadestownmarks Valdes’ second time on the Broadway stage after his turn as Andrej in the Tony-winning musicalOncein 2013.

Hadestown’s starry new cast continues with Kilgore, who made her Broadway debut as Ti Moune in the 2017 Broadway revival ofOnce on this Island. The musical took home best revival of a musical at the 2018 Tony Awards, where she was also nominated for best actress. She went on to star oppositeJennifer Hudsonin the 2021 Aretha Franklin biopicRespect.
Meanwhile, Hewitt is returning to the show after having previously played Hades in 2021. He has also starred in Broadway revivals ofChicago,The Rocky Horror ShowandJesus Christ Superstar.
That year, the show won eight Tonys, including best musical and best original score.
