Timothée Chalamethas a special message forJosh Brolin!
Brolin introduced Chalamet for the award, and also moderated an onstage conversation. When Chalamet learned of Brolin’s Feb. 12 birthday, he led the audience in a lively rendition of the celebratory song in dedication to theGooniesalum.

Before the impromptu performance, Brolin asked Chalamet if he has any dream roles he’d like to take on in the future, to which theBones and Allactor said, “I don’t want to talk in delusions of grandeur, but you know, I’m 29. When I turn 30, I’ll be closer to 40 than I’m 20, which is still very young. Shout out to everyone in the room. But I feel like the clock is ticking a little bit and I’m serious.”
Josh jokingly replied, “I turn 57 tomorrow motherf—er,” which prompted the other actor to sweetly begin singing the song.
The tribute to Chalamet highlighted his performances inA Complete UnknownandDune: Part Two. “This honor recognizes Chalamet’s unparalleled talent and his enduring impact on the cinematic landscape,” the event description stated.

Chalamet alsoreflected on his acting rangeduring the conversation portion of the evening. After stepping onstage following a collection of his movie clips that were shown to the audience, he said, “That was the trippiest montage.”
The actor joked: “Wonka to Bob Dylan. Really?”
At this part of the evening, Chalamet referred to Brolin as his “brother-slash-father figure,” which Brolin corrected to, “Otherwise known as the old man.”
The awardee later discussed playing the legendary singer-songwriter and how much he looks up to him as a musician and artist.

“I admire Bob Dylan [and] these great lyricists [and] artists that generate the work,” he said. “Maybe one day I’ll generate the work. Maybe one day I’ll write something great.”

Chalamet, Norton, Barbaro, and Mangold are among the eightAcademy Award nominationsfor the movie. The biopic is also up for Best Picture, along withDune: Part Two.
