Although he noted he wouldn’t be revealing any specific details about the couple’s special moment, he did share that Tom, 28, didn’t propose on a whim. Instead, his son had every detail thoughtfully planned out.
This was in stark contrast to his own proposal to Tom’s mother,Nicola “Nikki” Holland, he added, noting that he didn’t have a ring or parental permission when he popped the question.
After tying the knot, Dominic and Nikki welcomed Tom on June 1, 1996. They also havethree younger sons: twins Sam and Harry, and Paddy.

Even thoughTom and Zendayaare often in the public eye, Dominic is confident that the soon-to-be groom and bride won’t let stardom negatively impact their relationship.
While he said that he does “fret” over the couple’s “combined stardom,” and all the ways that will push them into the spotlight, he believes the couple will continue to navigate their unique relationship challenges with the same care they have since they first confirmed their relationship in 2021.
“I am completely confident they will make a successful union,” Dominic wrote.
The actors — whogot matching tattoos before their engagement— might wait a while to get married.
“They will just enjoy things for now and won’t rush a wedding,“an insider recently told PEOPLE. “They are both busy with work projects.”
