“My pregnancy journey has been a blessing. It was very calm and peaceful, and nothing that I imagined it would be,” Vanessa tells PEOPLE. “For a long time, I was very apprehensive about what would happen whenever the time came, however from the moment I found out I was pregnant up until now, it has been so beautiful.”

“Having Robbie present with me full time was a blessing in itself and divine timing. I’m so grateful to have experienced this with him,” she adds. “He was so attentive, helpful, considerate and loving.”

Chosen agrees, saying he was “thankful” to be present for their journey. As the couple reflected on becoming first time parents, Vanessa shares that she never could have expected the feeling.

“It’s honestly amazing and nothing that I could’ve ever expected,” Vanessa says. “Now I see what people mean when they say there’s truly no love like it.”

“I’m proud of us both for how we’ve been adjusting in the short time we’ve had her,” she continues. “Being able to fill her and our home with this new and exciting kind of love every day feels amazing.”

“Truly a blessing,” Chosen adds. “It’s a lifetime dream come true.”

As far as how he feels becoming a girl dad, Chosen says he’s found a new appreciation for all the women in his life.

“I love it, it’s opened my eyes to a newfound level of love, respect and understanding towards Sadé and women,” he tells PEOPLE.

“I’m excited to live in the foundation we’ve been blessed to create and that will continue to grow,” Chosen continues. He added that he’s looking forward to “being able to love her, guide her, protect her and teach” his daughter through “every step of her life.”

Vanessa agrees, saying it’s the “cutest thing” to watch Chosen with their daughter.

“She’s unlocked a new level of love and compassion within me,” Vanessa says. “I just want to love her, smell her and give her kisses all day. When I look at her, my life doesn’t feel real because of how blissful she makes me feel.”

“Getting adjusted to motherhood has been interesting, especially when she wants to stay awake all night,” she jokes. “But I think I’m doing a great job! I think it’s also very important for new moms to give themselves a lot of grace because we are doing this for the first time, along with our babies.”

Chosen says that becoming a dad has already changed his life for the better.

“I didn’t get the opportunity to grow up in a two parent household and experience that, but I also hoped for it,” he shares. “I’ve been blessed with a great woman and a beautiful child … It’s given me even more love [and] hope in all I do and [I’m] just thankful for all the moments that have taken place and all the great times we will share and create moving forward.”
