Washington Commanders Safety Jeremy Reaves Proposes to Girlfriend Mikaela Worley on Sidelines After Team Clinch Playoff Spot: Watch

TheWashington Commanders' latestgameproved to be a double celebration for safetyJeremy Reaves!

The NFL star, 28, proposed to his longtime girlfriend Mikaela Worley on the sidelines just moments after the Commanders beat the Atlanta Falcons 30-24 in overtime to clinch a playoff spot on Sunday, Dec. 29.

Worley, a physician assistant and University of Louisiana Monroe volleyball alum, can then be seen saying, “Yes," and nodding her head before the duo share an emotional embrace.

Making his excitement clear, Reaves, who has played for the Commanders since 2018, then let out a huge whoop as he pointed at the cheering crowd and locked lips with Worley.

“Post-clinch proposal! A moment they’ll never forget 💍🥹,” the NFL captioned the joint Instagram post with Reaves.

Speaking after the proposal, Reaves revealed that the moment hinged on the Commanders winning the game.

“I hate losing, so there’s no way I could have done that in the right spirit after a loss,” Reaves said, per theAssociated Press. “That thing was burning a hole in my pocket.”

“She’s earned it. I can’t say enough about her,” Reaves added of Worley. “When I was at my lowest last year, she was there to pick me up every day. She showed up. That’s my best friend. Been my best friend since high school.”

“You can tell a lot about somebody when they are going through the worst and how they handle it,” Reaves continued. “I was going through the worst last year coming off an ACL (tear). Couldn’t do anything, couldn’t be my own man and she was the crutch there when I couldn’t do it myself.”

Reaves also raved about his future bride in a Dec. 30Instagram post, writing, “A year ago I was at one of my lowest. A year later, you helped get me back to my best! Everytime life tore me down, you built me right back up and spoke life into me! You carried the weight when I couldn’t during some tough days(all that PA school definitely came in handy lol!) God makes no mistakes, and he gave me you when I needed you most! 8+ years of friendship, a lifetime to go as one! I meant it when I said 5life! I love you Mikaela R Worley PA-C.”

Worley regularly attends Reaves’ games and shares snaps of herself supporting him on the sidelines.

In her latestInstagram grid post, Worley posed with Reaves at the Commanders’ game against the New Orleans Saints, which the Commanders won 20-19.

“Post cards from NOLA⚜️and another week celebrating victory Monday 🍾,” she wrote in the Dec. 17 post.
