The couple started dating in July 2020 and welcomed their daughter,Caiden Carter Bellinger, in November 2021. Nearly two years later, in April 2023, they welcomed another daughter, Cy Carter Bellinger. The pairannounced their engagementtwo months later.

In December 2023, fans suspected the two got married after Carter shared a photo onInstagramof the two kissing on the beach, both donning what looked like wedding bands on their fingers.

Bellinger previously shared that his relationship with Carter works because the two see eye-to-eye. “We kind of see life the same, so I think that’s where it’s really going to work out,” he told PEOPLE in August 2021.

“I think being a good dad trumps all. Everyone says being a dad is the most important thing,” he said. “My girlfriend feels it; she’s growing in her stomach so she has that connection with it. I’m just there for the support, making sure she feels alright.”

In December 2024, Bellinger was traded to the Yankees, with fans noting that one of his new teammates, Giancarlo Stanton, previously dated Carter.

Carter was born in Nassau, Bahamas. Growing up in a “slow-paced, close-knit” community, the model has said she didn’t know that wasn’t how “the whole world worked.”

“Everyone’s your cousin, or everyone is a relative of some sort. You go to the grocery store and you bump into all of your friends’ parents,” she toldMaximin 2018. “It’s also very slow-paced, which was interesting for me because I’m a pretty high-strung individual. When I got to be around 8 or 10, my mom said I was ready to get out of the house.”

“Giving back to my Bahamian people, the youth, and the people I grew up with [is important]. I’m thinking about what I can help them out with, whether it’s tennis shoes or helping the sports coaches, like mine, who dedicate their time for free,” she toldStory + Rain.

She’s a model

Carter has been modeling since she was 13 after she met a scout at the Sydney Airport, perSports Illustrated. The model’s first meeting resulted in her signing with IMG and the agency embraced her desire to be “more of a personality,” as she told Story + Rain.

After kicking off her career, Carter worked for Victoria’s Secret Pink, Maybelline New York, Urban Outfitters and Good American, according toMaxim. She was also a rookie in the 2018Sports IllustratedSwimsuit issue.

Carter has said her approach to work is to “get involved creatively.”

“When I go onto set, I always ask, ‘What are we looking for?’ I hate wasting time on something that’s not working,” she said. “Once I’m shown the mood board, I kind of tap into an alter ego and go forward with the vibe and get into character."

She’s passionate about sports

Like Bellinger, Carter is also an athlete. Growing up, she played tennis, soccer, softball and was even a member of her high school’s track and field team, for which she threw the javelin, perSports Illustrated.She also ran the N.Y.C. Marathon in 2018, and she often sharesher intense workoutson Instagram.

The model has opened up about why she was so athletic growing up.

“They start bribing you and saying, ‘You don’t have to show up to practice or do that assignment today if you play the game,’ ” Carter toldMaxim. “I was on every national sports team, too, because of the lack of children. I was the number one javelin thrower in the Bahamas — because I was the only one.”

Carter also loves watching sports.

“As soon as I get up, no pun intended, I watch [ESPN’s]Get Up!,and I watch Stephen A. Smith, because his opinions are so outrageous and unfiltered," she toldMaxim.“I watch every game I can. My main interests are basketball and football, and I’m getting more interested in baseball now.”

She got engaged to Bellinger in 2023

Bellinger and Carter started dating in July 2020 — she made their relationshipInstagram officialwith a snap of them kissing at one of his baseball games in October 2020. “My ❤️,” she captioned the photos.

Bellinger followed Carter’s post a month later, goingInstagram officialwith her on his account in November 2020.

After dating for three years and welcoming two children together, the couple revealed they were engaged in June 2023. Carter shared the happy news on Instagram alongsidesnapsof her new ring and a sweet selfie of her and Bellinger smiling after his proposal.

They seemingly got married six months after announcing their engagement

Though Bellinger and Carter never announced they married, fans noticed that the two were wearing wedding bands in a December 2023 post. Carter also changed her Instagram name from Chase Carter to Chase Bellinger, seemingly confirming theories that the two were wed.

She shares two kids with Bellinger

Before they welcomed Caiden into the world, Bellinger shared his excitement about becoming a girl dad with PEOPLE.

“I’ve heard nothing but good things about having a little girl, especially with being the father of the girl,” Bellinger said. “Everyone tells me there’s no love like it. ‘Daddy’s little girl’ is a real thing so I’m super excited.”

On April 28, 2023, the couple welcomed another daughter, Cy. “Lots of babies lots of love,” the new mom-of-two wrote onInstagrama few days after Cy’s birth. The family of four went ona tropical vacationat the end of 2023.
