The Philadelphia 76ers guard has enjoyed a successfulNBAcareer since being drafted in 2015, playing for the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets and the Sixers.

“We know that it’s a rarity in our generation for relationships to get that far, andwe also made a pactto break a curse that has been in both of our families for lifetimes, we just were ready to be together forever and what better way to do that than to tie the knot," Kelly told PEOPLE at the time of their wedding.

In 2023, Shylynn gave Kelly a shout-out in anInstagrampost celebrating her birthday: “You’re my center, my breath of fresh air in this chaotic world, lead the way & I’ll always follow.”

So, who is Kelly Oubre Jr.’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Shylynn Oubre and her relationship with the NBA star.

She studied communication and business

Shylynn was born in August 1998 and moved “twice every year” during childhood, she wrote onher company’s website. Throughout the regular moves, Shylynn kept her Puerto Rican heritage close to her heart.

Per herLinkedIn, she attended Arizona State University from 2016 to 2020, studying communication, business, management and marketing.

Shylynn owns a hair and beauty brand

Shylynn founded a hair and beauty business, SHHY Beauty, in August 2020. On the business’ website, the founder wrote that she “created this brand to share a piece of me with the world and create a community to empower individuals to be unapologetically themselves.”

Shylynn added, “The idea dates back to my childhood and growing up as the first biracial child in my family. Before having access to YouTube tutorials, social media, and ethnic hair care aisles at the grocery/convenience stores alongside moving twice every year I struggled badly with accepting myself and finding my place and purpose in the world.”

SHHY Beauty sells facial cleansers, oils and body butters, among other haircare products.

Kelly and Shylynn started dating in 2020 and got married two years later

Kelly and Shylynn began dating in 2020 after they met through mutual friends. “It was one of those things where we saw each other and didn’t leave each other’s sights again after that," he told PEOPLE two years later.

The couple married at Puerto Rico’s St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort on July 9, 2022. Kelly told PEOPLE that they chose the island in part due to Shylynn’s roots there — Puerto Rico was also going to be their first trip together but their plans were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the wedding, Kelly and Shylynn “wanted to incorporate a galaxy theme with stars and planets — most importantly Venus, which we call ‘our planet.’ ” They said, “Standing at the bottom of the aisle completely zoning out and getting lost in each other’s eyes. It felt like it was just us there on the beach alone."

Shylynn wore a beaded gown as well as products from her own SHHY Beauty brand. She said of her outfit, “I always wanted a Cinderella dress, something big and fluffy with tons of sparkle.”

They share two children

Kelly and Shylynn welcomed their daughter, Málibu, on May 14, 2021. When they married a year later, she was present at their wedding and made her entrance in a mini pink Maybach.

The couple then grew their family again with the addition of their son, TsuSún Kelly, on May 1, 2023. Shylynn told PEOPLE at the time, “We contemplated naming him a ‘third’ (Kelly Oubre III) but Kelly wanted him to havean original name.”

She said, “We created TsuSún as a play on Kelly’s nickname Tsunami and a monsoon, maintaining a water-like theme as our daughter’s name is Málibu — a city with beautiful water views on Cali’s coastline.”

Shylynn explained that Málibu was adjusting to being a big sister, too. “As a 2-year-old, she’s in the process of learning to talk and converse. So she loves watching him sleep in his bassinet and giving him kisses and calling him ‘my brother,’ " she said.

The new mom of two continued, “She loves the ‘seniority’ of being the older child and the little things matter to her and she’s so proud being able to be involved and help with getting him his pacifier or grabbing his wipes, or diapers, or clothes for us.”

Shylynn supports her husband

Kelly was already playing in the NBA when he began dating Shylynn, and she’s supported him through his career. In May 2024, sheposted a photo of Kelly coming to see herand their children after he won a game with the 76ers, writing, “I hold you down & you hold us together.”

She was also in attendance for the 76ers game against the Miami Heat in November 2024, perSports Illustrated.

Shylynn also supports Kelly off the court. When he released the first official collection for his apparel brand Dope $oul in the fall of 2021, Shylynn attended the pop-up installation in New York City alongside him.

Kelly also offers his support to Shylynn,attending her SHHY Beauty eventsand opening up about their relationship onInstagram.

“There’s absolutely nothing better than finding your $oulMate & creating the life you always dreamed about but never saw in real life,” he wrote on the social media platform in 2022. “The only ‘gifts’ that matter are the ones that come from genuine love.”

Kelly and Shylynn have traveled the world together

Shylynn travels a lot, often with Kelly, who flies two or three times a week during the NBA season, perTravel Noire.

She often posts photos from vacations on social media, too. In 2019, Shylynnspent her birthday in the Bahamas, and in 2020, shevisited French Polynesia with Kelly, writing on Instagram, “For once in my life, I don’t have to force happiness; when I’m with you, it just happens.”

The following year, Kelly and Shylynnvisited Saint-Tropez in France. Per her Instagram highlights, she’s also visited Jamaica, Italy and Greece.
