TheFoundstarproposed to McGinn in 2011, and they had a California wedding in July 2012 at a Sunstone winery in Santa Ynez.

“He was so excited to have found the woman of his dreams,” Neil Lane, jeweler and friend of Gosselaar, toldPEOPLEin 2012.

The couple havetwo children, Dekker Edward and Lachlyn Hope. Gosselaar also has two children, Michael Charles and Ava Lorenn, from a previous marriage.

“I always say this: ‘I’m a husband first, a father second [and an] actor third,’ ” Gosselaar said during an appearance onThe Jennifer Hudson Showin January 2025. “My day revolves aroundmaking sure my wife is good[and] making sure the kids are good."

According to Media Monitors, McGinn washired in 2010as a sales executive.

Prior to that, she held an executive advertising position at Nielsen BDSRadio as a general manager overseeing product development, marketing and national advertising sales.

She has custom rings

“He couldn’t wait to propose,” Lane told PEOPLE.

The couple also worked with Lane to create their wedding bands.

“They were very specific about their rings, wanted something very special and were so excited to be a part of the designing process,” Lane said. “Mark-Paul wanted something strong and stylish and, right from the start, Catriona knew she wanted something very romantic and very sparkly to complement her cushion-cut diamond engagement ring.”

McGinn’s finished product was a roughly 3-carat eternity band set with dozens of small diamonds on all three sides and Gosselaar, a wide platinum band with a burnished matte texture.

They had their honeymoon in Italy

The couple enjoyed a romantic honeymoon in Italy following their California wedding in 2012.

“I’m going to take a break now, travel for our honeymoon, and enjoy my beautiful wife … and new life!” Gosselaar wrote on X (formerly Twitter), at the time.

She has Scottish roots

McGinn made sure toincorporate her Scottish backgroundinto her wedding in 2012. “Much of my family is from the United Kingdom,” she told Inside Weddings.

McGinn included a bagpiper at the ceremony, and some attendees wore kilts.

She takes family time seriously

In 2020, after welcoming their son Dekker Edward, Gosselaar told PEOPLE that one of his goals with a newborn was “just having dinner … as a unit.”

And another way the family makes time for one another? Weekend family time.

“One of the activities that we do is we play golf together — it’s something that we like,” Gosselaar continued. “We pick one day to have fun between the kids’ soccer and gymnastics.”

In January 2024, Gosselaar shared withE!that his eldest daughter and McGinnwatched the pilotof his showFoundwith him.

She encouraged Gosselaar to go to therapy with her

While appearing at ’90s Con Tampa in 2023, Gosselaar shared that his “really aggressive baseball player” role in Fox’s drama seriesPitchwouldstick with himwhen he went home.

“I’d come in through that front door and like my wife said in therapy sessions, ‘That’s not the guy I married,’ ” Gosselaar said. “And you’re playing this guy and then the next day, you have to jump right into that. It is actually really difficult to go back and forth, especially when you have kids.”

“I consider myself a husband first, a family guy second and an actor third,” he said. “It’s not easy, but I have an understanding family and a wife to work through it, communicate about it.”

She has an affinity for decorating

While appearing onThe TalkGosselaar shared that McGinnstarts Christmas decorationsa day after Thanksgiving.

“My wife does all the work,” he said. “I get all the boxes out. She does all the work though.”
