The actor was initially linked to the model in September 2015 when they were spotted at the celebrity hotspot the Nice Guy in West Hollywood. Schwarzenegger first appeared onChampion’s Instagramin February 2016, and the two have been staples on each others' pages ever since.

In February 2025, Schwarzenneger told PEOPLE he knew Champion was the one for him when he saw “how much she values familyand how similar our core values are.”

“Over the course of the years, I just continuously fell in love with her more and more, with the kind of human that she was becoming and that the relationship was becoming,” he said.

Astheir relationship has flourishedover the years, so have both of their respective careers — his as an actor in projects likeThe White Lotus, and hers as a model for some of the biggest fashion brands in the world.

Champion grew up in Birmingham, Alabama along with her three siblings. Regarding her Southern upbringing, Champion told her local hometown news outlet theVestavia Voicein a 2016 interview that growing up in Alabama was “amazing.”

“It teaches you to have good manners, enjoy good food and reminds me of the importance of faith and family,” she shared with the publication.

In 2019, she toldLOVEmagazinethat she grew up on a “quiet street” in Birmingham and that her family had lots of land. Based onher Instagram, Champion still makes trips home to see her siblings in Birmingham.

Champion’s older sisterBaskinwas a model first, serving asMiss Teen Alabamain 2014 before representing their home state at the national pageantthe following year. Champion later revealed toVestavia Voicethat she was first scouted at one of her sister’s pageant. A recruiter approached her while she was watching Baskin at the 2014 Miss Teen USA event, and asked her if she had any interest in modeling.

Champion also told the outlet she was able to “watch and learn from [Baskin] as she began,” and that they both were signed to agencies around the same time. The sisters even did a shoot together for the fashion brand Aeropostale and modeled together at Birmingham Fashion Week in 2015.

In 2021, Champion discussed her budding career withV Magazine, saying she felt a spark for modeling at her very first fashion show.

“That show, for me, made me want to work hard to be able to do many more shows. There was so much adrenaline and power that I saw the other girls hold that made me love it so much,” she shared.

She is supportive of Schwarzenegger’s career

Schwarzenegger returns the favor often and praises Champion for her work ethic onInstagram. “Looking at all the fun times we’ve had over the years & how you’ve grown into such a beautiful women! You work so hard & im so proud of you & can’t wait to see what this year holds for you!” he wrote in one post.

He also sung her praises while talking to PEOPLE in February 2025. “Now to see her, when I walk down the street, on every billboard of Chanel or Celine or Victoria’s Secret … it’s just such a great thing to watch how much she’s grown and how determined she is and how hardworking she is and how she has such a vision for her life,” he said.

After dating for several years, Champion and Schwarzenegger announced their engagement on Instagram on Dec. 26, 2023. The pair alsoshared several snapsfrom the proposal, including one sweet shot of Schwarzenegger planting a kiss on Champion’s cheek as she showed off her new engagement ring.

After the actor popped the question, they celebrated with a cake that featured a photo of the two of them together that read “Congratulations.”

While the couple are planning their wedding and future together, it seems that when it comes to kids, Schwarzenegger said that he “would have kids tomorrowif I could,” though he is leaving the timeline up to his future wife.
