William H. Macyhas finally reached a settlement with his neighbor, Pierce Brown, following ayears-long legal disputeover landscaping.
Brown had accused theShamelessstar, 74, of “knowingly and intentionally” instructing a team of landscapers to destroy and remove “several healthy, decades-old mature pine trees and other vegetation" from his property. Brown filed the $600,000 lawsuit against the star in April 2023.
The conditions of their deal remain a secret, however. As stated in the filing made to the Superior Court of Los Angeles, the settlement is “conditional” based upon the “satisfactory completion of specified terms” that are not listed in the document.

PEOPLE previously reported that in addition to the removal of the trees,Brown claimedin his filing that “Macy acknowledged the entry of his workmen onto the Brown Property, their lack of permission to do so, and their destruction and removal of, and damage to, the Brown’s trees and vegetation.”

The lawsuit came four years after Macy’s wife,Felicity Huffman, was involved in the 2019college admissions cheating scandal. The actress, 62, was sentenced to 14 days in prison afterpleading guiltyto paying $15,000 to have a proctor change her and Macy’s daughter Sophia’s answers on her SAT test.
Huffman served 11 days of her 14-dayprison sentencein October 2020. She was also sentenced to 250 hours of community service and was on supervised release for one year.
