Woman Demands Brother's Fiancée Complete Paternity Test or She Won't Hand Over 20K She Promised to Help Pay for Wedding

A woman refused to help pay for her brother’s wedding until his fiancée took a paternity test.

The couple asked their families for help paying for their wedding. Because the groom’s parents “are not wealthy,” his well-off older sister stepped up.

“I agreed, with one condition: a paternity test,” she said.

The woman explained that her brother’s fiancée was “dating someone else right before” their relationship, which made her doubt the paternity of the child.

“She called me cruel and said I was trying to humiliate her. My brother was torn but eventually agreed because he really needed the money,” the groom’s sister said. “The test came back — he’s the father. I apologized, and I thought that was the end of it.”

An apology isn’t enough for the bride. She “refuses to forgive” her soon-to-be sister-in-law and wants nothing to do with her. Even though the groom’s sister is still paying for the wedding, she’s lost her spot on the guest list.

“She disinvited me from the wedding and told my brother she never wanted to see me again,” the woman said. “My brother is upset but says he has to side with his future wife. My parents think I was out of line, but some friends say I was just being cautious.”

Reddit users agreed that the groom’s sister was in the wrong. They pointed out that the timeline didn’t warrant suspicions. The bride got pregnant after seven months of dating the groom, so she wouldn’t have been able to hide a pregnancy from another relationship for that long.

“You can’t carry a secret love child for seven months,” an individual commented. “She was mad because the timelines didn’t correlate and you were accusing her of cheating.”
