A woman feels “horrible” after an encounter with ahospital roommate— and she’s unsure who’s at fault.

The woman, 30, shared her story on Thursday, Dec. 19 via Reddit’s“Am I the A——”forum — a place where people congregate to get advice on interpersonal issues.

However, the roommate apparently took offense. The OP [original poster] says she became “huffy” and even called her “selfish.”

“When I woke up from the nap, roommate was no longer there,” the Redditor wrote. A nurse later told her that the roommate had “demanded to be moved to a different room,” and also said the OP “should be kinder” with her words.

“I feel that I’m not the a—— for wanting to sleep to recover,” the OP concluded, while also admitting that the whole situation made her feel terrible.

“NTA [not the a——],” one commenter wrote, adding, “It’s a hospital stay, not a social call. She may have been feeling lonely, especially since you had visitors, but that doesn’t mean you are her built in company. I would address it with the nurses or someone else of that nature. It’s not fair that the onus was on you because she got her feelings hurt.”

Others were outraged that the woman’s nurse shared that the roommate had requested to move in the first place.

“NTA at all. And the staff seriously overstepped. Your only job there is to recover. [You] have no duty to be in-house entertainment. I would be tempted to complain about the member of staff who spoke to you like that,” another commenter wrote.
